Residents of Beirut and other Lebanese areas, including the office of the Minister of Information, received calls on Monday via landlines from Israel, asking them to evacuate their locations, according to the official National News Agency.

The agency said the messages came from Israel and asked recipients to “evacuate their locations quickly.”

The office of Information Minister Ziad Makary confirmed to Agence France-Presse that it had received a call during which a “recorded message” was read out, including a request to evacuate the building.

The Israeli army called on the population in Lebanon to “stay away” from Hezbollah positions.
