Kombos meets Greek and Jordanian counterparts

Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos on Thursday held a tripartite meeting with his Greek and Jordanian counterparts Giorgos Gerapetritis and Ayman Safadi in New York.

The foreign ministry said that at the meeting, plans were made for a summit to be held later this year between the three countries in Cyprus.

Elsewhere, Kombos met his Filipino counterpart Enrique Manalo, and his Albanian counterpart Igli Hasani, with whom he discussed the latest developments in Albania’s candidacy for membership of the European Union.

He then met his counterpart from Guinea-Bissau Carlos Pinto Pereira, as well as Tonga’s Trade Minister Viliami Uasike Latu, the League of Arab States’ Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov.

He then attended a special meeting on the ongoing situation in Gaza, before watching Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ address to the United Nations General Assembly.

On Friday, President Nikos Christodoulides is set to meet the Gambia’s President Adama Barrow, before hosting a luncheon for the permanent representatives to the UN of the UN Security Council’s five permanent members.

He has no scheduled meetings on Saturday and will return to Cyprus on Sunday.
