NORFOLK, Va. (WGHP) — An aircraft carrier is a warship that functions as a floating air base. It takes thousands of sailors to keep it running, and they are on the ship for months at a time.
Late last month, FOX8’s Katie Nordeen was invited to spend the night on the Navy’s newest aircraft carrier: the USS Gerald R. Ford.
She got to see what makes an aircraft carrier a city on the sea.
