WASHINGTON, D.C. (DC News Now) — John F. Kennedy’s grandson Jack Schlossberg teased fans he might be at his own lookalike contest in Washington D.C. this weekend, according to the Vogue political correspondent’s Instagram stories.
D.C. is the latest city to join an ongoing trend of celebrity lookalike contests. In New York City, actor Timothée Chalamet showed up at his own lookalike competition, posing with hundreds of fans and lookalikes.
A similar contest centered around Jack Schlossberg will be hosted in the District on Sunday, Nov. 24. So far, nearly 700 people have RSVP’d, meaning the competition will likely be intense.
On his Instagram stories, Schlossberg (@jackuno) posted a screenshot of a DC News Now article about Sunday’s event, writing “See you cherubs there!!!!!!!”
In another story, he wrote “Cherub who can do both” with a screenshot of an article with the headline “Who is Jack Schlossberg?”
Unfortunately, Schlossberg confirmed with DC News Now that he would not actually be there in person.
The contest will start at 2 p.m. in Meridian Hill Park. The winner will get a $50 cash prize, $100 Zipcar driving credit and 1-year free membership, as well as a $100 Salazar gift card.
Meanwhile, this weekend in Austin, lookalikes of a different heartthrob are convening to vie for a win for looking like “Twisters” star Glen Powell. The Glen Powell lookalike contest will be held Sunday.
Who is Jack Schlossberg?
Schlossberg, 31, is an attorney and the sole grandson of Pres. John F. Kennedy. Though Schlossberg is a longtime Democratic political advocate, his profile rose considerably starting last year, due to his humorous social media presence.
One of Schlossberg’s first viral moments happened last July, when the graduate of both Yale and Harvard universities, posted a light-hearted rant against… restaurants.
“We have to wait there to eat something that we don’t get to choose, really, what it is,” says Schlossberg to the camera. “We only get a few choices and you don’t know what any of them are gonna taste like or what’s good… and we’re gonna sit there and wait for some guy to ask us a question. And we’re gonna have to talk to some guy about what we wanna eat.”
Over the past year, Schlossberg has expanded his TikTok, X and Instagram posts to include running jokes, characters and some direct smack-talking directed at people like Vice President-elect J.D. Vance and cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Schlossberg’s rising social media fame, especially among Democrats, culminated with him being an official part of Kamala Harris’ 2024 campaign. Schlossberg also covered the race as a political correspondent for Vogue, a position he continues to serve in past the election.
