Dozens of Israeli airstrikes targeted several areas in southern and eastern Lebanon on Monday morning, killing at least one civilian, the official National News Agency reported.
The Israeli army announced that it had launched intensive raids on Hezbollah targets in various parts of Lebanon, calling on residents to stay away from its sites, and vowing to continue the strikes “in the near future.”
The official agency reported, “At exactly 6:30 a.m. (03:30 GMT), Israeli warplanes launched more than eighty air strikes in half an hour,” targeting areas and valleys in the Nabatieh Governorate in southern Lebanon.
The raids targeted several areas in the Tyre region.
The strikes in the south coincided with “intensive raids on the Bekaa region” on the border with Syria in eastern Lebanon.
A source close to Hezbollah told AFP that the raids “targeted several sites in the western and eastern mountain ranges of Lebanon, reaching the Hermel region.”
The raids on the outskirts of the town of Boudai in the Bekaa led to the death of a civilian, a shepherd, and the injury of two members of his family, according to the National News Agency, which reported that four other people were injured and transferred to hospitals in the region.
AFP correspondents reported that the sound of the raids was heard in several areas.
The Israeli army on Monday called on residents of Lebanon to “stay away” from Hezbollah positions, vowing to launch more “intensive and precise raids.”
