The exchange of accusations highlighted the fragility of the ceasefire brokered by the United States and France to end the fighting that broke out in parallel with the Gaza war. The ceasefire agreement will last for 60 days, with the hope of reaching a permanent cessation of hostilities.
The Israeli air strike on Thursday was the first since the agreement came into force on Wednesday morning.
The ceasefire agreement stipulates the dismantling of unauthorized military installations south of the Litani River, but it does not mention military installations north of the river.
