He added, “The Mansouriya field is one of the most promising fields in gas production, which will contribute to meeting the country’s need for gas to supply the national network of gas-fired electric power generation stations. It is considered a major achievement due to the economic and social benefits that will be achieved that will reflect positively on the reality of the governorate, and provide job opportunities for the workforce.” .
For his part, Director General of the Central Oil Company, Muhammad Yassin Hassan, said, “It is hoped that the field’s initial production will begin at 100 million cubic feet per day, reaching more than 300 million cubic feet per day, which will feed the Mansouriya gas station,” noting that “the development of gas fields Dry represents a very important shift in the gas sector, especially in Diyala Governorate.”
A few days ago, the Ministry announced the signing of 14 contracts within the fifth and sixth complementary licensing rounds for oil and gas exploration.
The minister said, “This number of contracts is considered a major achievement for the Ministry of Oil and the government in the field of gas investment, which is emphasized by the government program.”
He stated, “The contracts for the two licensing rounds will add more than 850 million cubic feet of gas and up to 750,000 barrels of crude oil, which contributes to maximizing the financial resources of the Iraqi state and developing the national economy.”
