Iran: We do not seek to obtain nuclear weapons

Araqchi said in a post on the “X” platform, on Saturday: “Iran Do not seek nuclear weapons. This is a policy based on Islamic teachings and our security calculations. Building trust is required on both sides. “It’s not a one-way street.”

Araqchi also denied US accusations of a link between Tehran and an alleged plot to kill the president-elect Donald TrumpHe called for building confidence between the two adversary countries.

He said: “Now a new scenario is being invented. Since there is no killer in reality, screenwriters are being brought in to write a cheap comedy.”

This comes in reference to the alleged conspiracy that Washington said was ordered by Iranian Revolutionary Guard To assassinate Trump, who won the presidential election and is scheduled to take office next January.

Araqchi said: “The American people have made their decision. Iran respects their right to elect the president of their choice. The way forward is also a choice that begins with respect.”

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei had previously described this claim as a “malicious” conspiracy by Israel And the Iranian opposition abroad, with the aim of “complicating matters between America and Iran.”

Analysts and informed sources in Iran do not rule out the possibility of a breakthrough between Tehran and Washington during the Trump era, but without restoring diplomatic relations.
