The Hamdan Bin Rashid Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences announced the start of the initial evaluation process for the “Innovators” competition, which is one of the pioneering initiatives that aims to support and encourage young innovators in the fields of science and technology.
The evaluation of the submitted projects began over two days to select the teams that will qualify for the next stage of the competition.
His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, said that the competition seeks to discover and support young innovators through an evaluation process based on precise and transparent criteria.
He explained that the aim of the initiative is to provide the necessary opportunities to develop the innovative ideas of young people and transform them into tangible projects that contribute to advancing sustainable development and enhancing national capabilities in the fields of science and technology.
The remaining stages of the competition include the implementation stage, which will begin in the Emirates Fab Lab during the current months of September and October, where the distinguished projects selected in the first stage will be implemented, followed by the second stage of evaluation next November, which will depend on the extent to which the projects achieve the specified goals, to determine the winning teams.
The winners will be announced and honored during the month of November, confirming the Foundation’s continuous support for youth and encouraging them to innovate and excel in their fields.
The competition organizers said that the current edition has witnessed great interest from Emirati and Gulf youth, with the total number of applications submitted reaching 137. The judging committees include a group of experts and specialists in various fields of the competition, and they have undergone intensive training on the latest developments and innovations, to ensure the application of the best international practices and standards in the judging process.
They added that these steps come within the framework of the Foundation’s keenness to provide a fair and transparent competition that provides equal opportunities for all participants to showcase their talents and achieve their ambitions.
