“Iktifaa” signs a contract to supply the third batch of cows to Maliha Dairy Farm

Today, the Sharjah Agricultural and Animal Production Corporation (Iktifa), affiliated with the Department of Agriculture and Animal Wealth, signed a contract with the “Antro Agrarar” Company to supply the third batch of 1,500 cows from the Maliha Farm carrying the natural and non-genetically modified “A2A2” genes.

The contract was signed by His Excellency Dr. Eng. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, CEO of Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Corporation (IKTVA), and Junaid Kocakulak, General Manager of Entro Agrarar, in the presence of His Excellency Salem Al Kaabi, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, and a number of senior officials from both sides.

The contract stipulates that Antro Agraar Company will supply 1,500 A2A2 Danish Holstein cows, inseminated with A2A2 genes, carrying females, to be delivered via aircraft equipped with all necessary health requirements and conforming to all specifications and medical examinations approved for importing cows into the UAE.

His Excellency Dr. Eng. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji said that the signing of the contract came in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to increase the number of the nucleus herd at the Maliha Dairy Farm to 8,000 cows instead of 5,000, in response to the increasing demand for Maliha organic milk in the local market, which is the result of the correct and sound construction of the safe food system in Sharjah, adopted by His Highness, which relies on healthy food and the search for the best breed of cows, as the purity of the breed is the guarantee of the healthy product, in addition to the fact that the Maliha Dairy Farm project contributes to the research, scientific and academic efforts that serve the community through the clean, healthy product and studying its benefits in cooperation with the best universities, especially the University of Dhaid, and the continued cooperation with the company “Antro Agraar” enabled us to achieve all the requirements and specifications that are consistent with the Sharjah Food Strategy.

For his part, Junaid Kocakulak stressed the importance of continuing cooperation with the Sharjah government and linking this strategic partnership with the Sharjah Agricultural and Animal Production Corporation (Iktifaa) and cooperating with the most important leading institutions in the production of organic food according to the best international practices, noting that these efforts come to meet the needs and aspirations of consumers.
