IDEA Innovation Centre opens applications for startup programme

The IDEA Innovation Centre, an initiative by the Bank of Cyprus, this week announced that it is now accepting applications for the tenth cycle of its startup programme.

Aspiring entrepreneurs with innovative ideas are encouraged to apply by February 14, 2025.

As the largest innovation and business support organisation in Cyprus, IDEA is calling for startups that can develop innovative products or services, solve existing problems creatively, and demonstrate potential for international expansion.

Applicants must form a dedicated team of at least two members.

IDEA offers a comprehensive nine-month programme designed to nurture entrepreneurial talent.

The support package includes €20,000 in seed capital, training in business creation, mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs, and expert services in legal, accounting, marketing, and ICT.

Startups will also gain access to valuable networking opportunities and angel investors.

Bank of Cyprus reiterated its commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.

“IDEA stands as a testament to our continuous investment in the future of Cyprus,” the organisation said in a statement.

Since its establishment, IDEA has supported 95 startups, creating over 120 new jobs.

Many of its alumni have secured investment capital and formed strategic partnerships, both locally and internationally.

“Our startups have established offices and built teams, reflecting the impact of our support,” the statement added.
