High Point family remembers loved one killed in hit-and-run

HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — Rhianna Swinney wants justice for her brother, 33-year-old Michael Isaac Jr., who was fatally hit by a truck while he was riding his bike home on Sunday.

It appears no one witnessed the crash.

Swinney says she can’t sleep at night thinking about how someone hurt Michael and just drove off.

“I just wish that something different could’ve happened. He was a good guy, and he was only 33. He didn’t deserve to just be left laying in the road like nothing,” Swinney said.

Swinney says Michael was gifted.

“He liked to fix stuff. He was a handy man … He could build a house from the bottom up. He could do it all,” Swinney said.

She said it was his kindness that left a lasting impact.

“He had a lot more people than just us that cared about him on a day-to-day basis. People at restaurants, lumber yards and just all kinds of people that I never knew anything about,” Swinney said.

She says he was biking home that night after getting his best friend home because that was just the kind of heart Michael had.

“His friend was on the phone with him when it happened. He heard the whole thing happen. He heard a loud like buzzing noise, and then the phone just went completely quiet,” Swinney said.

Now she wants to know who did this.

“I would just pray that you find it in your heart to please come forward and admit what you did,” Swinney said.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers. There is up to a $5,000 reward for anyone who reports information to close this case.
