In a statement today, the Lebanese Hezbollah confirmed the killing of its Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, pledging to continue the confrontation against Israel.
Today, the Israeli army announced the killing of the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah group, Hassan Nasrallah, a day after an Israeli bombing on the southern suburb of Beirut targeted the group’s central command headquarters.
The Israeli army spokesman, Avichay Adraee, said on the “X” platform: “Yesterday, the IDF eliminated the so-called Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Hezbollah terrorist organization and one of its founders.”
Adraee added: “The IDF also eliminated the so-called Ali Karki, the commander of the southern front of the terrorist Hezbollah, and a number of other leaders in Hezbollah.”
He pointed out that “Air Force planes, under precise intelligence guidance from the intelligence agency and the security establishment, raided Hezbollah’s central headquarters located underground under a residential building in the southern suburb area.”
He continued: “The raid was carried out at a time when Hezbollah’s leadership was present inside the headquarters and they were coordinating terrorist activities against the citizens of Israel.”
He pointed out that “during 32 years of his leadership of the Hezbollah terrorist organization, Hassan Nasrallah was responsible for the killing of a large number of Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers, in addition to planning and implementing thousands of terrorist acts against the State of Israel and around the world.”
He said: “Nasrallah was the main decision-maker in the organization and the one who had the sole and final word on every strategic decision taken by Hezbollah, and sometimes on tactical decisions as well.”
He continued: “On October 8, the Hezbollah terrorist organization and its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, joined the war against the State of Israel, and since that time Hezbollah has continued its attacks against the citizens of Israel, dragging the State of Lebanon and the region into escalation.”
“The IDF will continue to target anyone who promotes and is involved in terrorist acts against citizens of the State of Israel,” the spokesman said.
