Hassan Nasrallah: We were subjected to a severe and unprecedented blow

Thirty-seven people, most of them Hezbollah members, were killed and nearly three thousand others were injured as a result of the explosion of thousands of “pagers” on Tuesday, and then of wireless communication devices on Wednesday, used by Hezbollah members.

In a speech he delivered on screen, during which Israeli aircraft broke the sound barrier at low altitude at least twice in Lebanese airspace, Nasrallah said, “There is no doubt that we have been subjected to a major security and humanitarian blow, unprecedented in the history of Lebanon.”

He stressed that “the enemy has crossed all controls, laws and red lines with this operation.”

And considered Nasrallah Israel wanted, through its two-stage attack, to kill “no less than five thousand people in two minutes, without regard to any officer.”

He said that Tuesday and Wednesday were “heavy and bloody days and a big test,” stressing that “this big, strong and unprecedented blow did not bring us down and will not bring us down.”

The leader threatened Hezbollah Israel will be “severely punished and fairly punished, whether they expect it or not,” he said, noting that he would not specify the place, time, or form of the response.

Nasrallah said that his party “formed internal investigation committees” and reached “almost definitive results”, but still needed “some time to confirm the result (…) whether from the company that sold the manufacturing to the transportation to the arrival to Lebanon… to the moment of the explosion.”

He wondered how he would describe the “serious crime” he was accused of. Lebanon Hezbollah, the Hebrew state, has “genocide, a major aggression against Lebanon… war crimes or a declaration of war? You can call it anything,” adopting the term “massacre” for the events of the past two days.

Nasrallah reiterated that “the Lebanese front will not stop before the aggression on Gaza stops” despite “all these wounds and all this blood.”

He said that Hezbollah’s “structure” “did not shake or falter” after the bombings, because it “is so strong, solid, capable, equipped, numerous and cohesive that a major crime cannot shake it.”

Nasrallah responded to statements made by Israeli officials in the last two days regarding the return of residents of the north to their homes, after tens of thousands were displaced on both sides of the border.

“You will not be able to return the people of the north to the north… do whatever you want,” he said, adding, “No military escalation, no killing, no assassinations, and no comprehensive war can return the people to the borders.”

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office Benjamin Netanyahu In a statement late Monday, he announced an update to the “war objectives” to include “the safe return of the people of the north to their homes.”

The Minister of Defense said Yoav Galant That “military action” is “the only remaining way to ensure the return of Northern Israel residents To their homes.

Nasrallah said, “The only way is to stop the aggression and war on Gaza.”
