‘Greece will not be drawn into a discussion of recognising the pseudo-state,” Greek Prime Minister Kyriacos Mitsotakis said on Sunday.
In a post on social media, and referencing his recent trip to New York, where he met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he said that “the fact that we are discussing does not mean that we agree on everything”, adding that Greece does not weigh issues of sovereignty and sovereign rights.
“Greece does not even enter the process of discussing the recognition of a pseudo-state [the north], nor do we obviously weigh issues of sovereignty and sovereign rights. We agreed on closer cooperation on immigration and on a new meeting of the supreme Cooperation Council at the beginning of 2025,” the Greek Prime Minister said.
