Greater Reading Chamber Alliance launches new platform for talent attraction

The Greater Reading Chamber Alliance has announced the opening of the Candidate Marketplace, the newest feature of its Meet Greater Reading talent attraction program.

Candidate Marketplace aims to connect prospective residents and job seekers with companies in the community. It is open to all Berks County businesses, GRCA said in a press release.

GRCA said Candidate Marketplace was developed in partnership with RoleCall, a national talent attraction consulting agency, to address a pain point of local companies — talent attraction.

The new platform allows employers to access a pool of candidates seeking jobs and willing to relocate to the greater Reading area.

To attract candidates, GRCA uses its Meet Greater Reading brand to highlight the selling points of Reading, such as a low cost of living and quality schools, via a marketing campaign aimed at those who once lived here, recent college graduates, those open to relocation and workers in priority industries such as education, healthcare, engineering, manufacturing and skilled trades.

Employers who join the Candidate Marketplace will receive updates when new candidates enter the platform. They can search, filter and sort candidates based on industry, experience, timeline to move and education, GRCA said.

Prospective candidates also will receive regular emails with curated information relevant to their industry and interests to keep them informed about the Greater Reading area.

“Through the Candidate Marketplace, we are bridging the gap between local businesses and a highly motivated talent pool,”  Keith Stamm, director of workforce, said in the release. “This platform will empower employers to connect with prospective residents who are eager to make Greater Reading their home. It’s a key step in addressing the region’s talent needs and helping our community continue to thrive,”
