A joint statement published today said: “Russia remains the only obstacle to a just and lasting peace.”
The statement continued, “We support Kyiv as the thousandth day of war approaches Russia Aggression on Ukraine“.
Italy holds the rotating presidency of the G7 in 2024, which also includes the United States, Canada, Japan, France, Germany and Britain.
“The G7 reaffirms its commitment to impose high costs on Russia through sanctions, export controls and other effective measures. We stand united with Ukraine,” the statement added.
