Former Buffalo Sabres forward Riley Sheahan has officially retired from professional hockey, as he discussed in a recent article by BP Sports Niagara’s Bill Potrecz.

Sheahan, 32, had two different stints with the Sabres organization. In 53 games with the club during the 2020-21 season, he had four goals and 13 points. He then played in two games for the Sabres during the 2022-23 season, posting zero points and a minus-2 rating.
Sheahan also played in six games in 2022-23 with the Sabres’ AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans, recording three assists.

In 637 career NHL games over 12 seasons split between the Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panthers, Edmonton Oilers, Seattle Kraken, and Sabres, Sheahan had 74 goals, 120 assists, and 194 points.
