Five diverted flights from Israel resume departures from Larnaca

Five diverted flights from Israel resume departures from Larnaca

Five out of ten flights diverted from the EU to Larnaca Airport, originally bound for Israel, resumed their departures on Wednesday.

These flights had been rerouted from Tel Aviv due to an Iranian missile attack against Israel on Tuesday night.

Airport operator Hermes announced that passengers from three of the remaining flights had been accommodated in hotels overnight, arrangements made by their respective airlines. These passengers are expected to depart later on Wednesday, as reported by the Cyprus News Agency.

Two flights remain grounded at Larnaca Airport, either because crew members had exceeded their permitted working hours or are awaiting clearance to continue their journey to Tel Aviv.

For Wednesday, ten flight arrivals from Tel Aviv are scheduled to land at Larnaca, along with nine departures. These flights are primarily operated by Israeli airlines, aiming to carry out as many trips as possible.

Reports confirm that Paphos Airport has not been affected by these disruptions. Flights between Paphos and Israel continue to operate normally, and no EU-bound flights destined for Tel Aviv have been diverted there.
