The fire service has rescued two people who were injured in separate incidents, one falling from a block of flats onto a garage roof and another while cleaning photovoltaic panels, it announced on Saturday.
Spokesman Andreas Kettis posted on X that at 1.24pm on Friday the Famagusta station sent a team and rescue vehicle to help a person who was injured on a house roof in Sotira village in Famagusta.
The person, who had been cleaning photovoltaic panels, was given first aid and then taken to Famagusta general hospital.
At 9.56am on Saturday, a person was rescued after falling from a block of flats onto a garage roof.
The injured person was placed on a stretcher and brought to safety, given first aid and taken to the emergency unit at Larnaca general hospital.
