Customers were reportedly evacuated from a town centre supermarket after reports of a blaze.
Five fire engines were called to Morrisons in Mill Way, Sittingbourne.
A picture sent to KentOnline by shopper Jake Armstrong shows several customers waiting outside the store.
Mr Armstrong said: “We got to Morrisons at around 7.35pm and the alarm triggered.
“Fire engine arrived in around 10 minutes [and] within 30 minutes we had five fire engines and a fire car.
“I’m not sure exactly what caused the fire.”
It is not yet known if anyone has been injured following the incident.
Morrisons and Kent Fire and Rescue Service were approached for more information.
