Find a career in Europe event in Nicosia

The labour ministry in collaboration with EURES Cyprus, a network of cooperation for employment and for the free movement of workers, is hosting a career event titled “Find Your Career in Europe” on Tuesday at the Royal Hall in Nicosia.

The event is aimed at individuals seeking employment opportunities in other EU countries.

A statement released by the ministry on Monday said representatives from employment offices in nine EU member states, along with company representatives, will present “hundreds of open job positions in various sectors”.

Employment offices from Germany, the Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, and the Netherlands will provide information on job openings in industries such as hospitality, transport, technology, communications, engineering and healthcare.

The event is open to anyone interested in exploring job opportunities in Europe and learning about the labour market requirements in different countries.

Participants will also have the opportunity to join workshops and seminars focused on preparing for work abroad and networking with professionals and organisations involved in the European labour market.

The event is organised to mark the 30th anniversary of the EURES network.

From 11am to 1pm, the Cyprus Productivity Centre (KEPA) will host a workshop, offering participants guidance on how to use the Europass platform, create a professional Europass CV, and write a comprehensive cover letter. The workshop will also provide tips on successful interview techniques.

Later, between 2pm and 4pm, the event will feature a workshop on ‘soft skills’, namely non-technical skills that describe how people work and interact with other. The workshop will provide participants guidance on effective communication, time management, flexibility, teamwork and problem-solving.

The workshops will be conducted in Greek, and attendance at the event, which will last from 10am to 6pm, is free of charge.
