Tord Torvund and Thea Kristiansen’s wedding has become a nerve-wracking drama, but now the groom has finally arrived at Finse.
– Now things are going very well. People have had a bit of a drink and the atmosphere is at its best. We are looking forward to the evening, says Lars Henrik Hjellestad, the groom’s friend.
He says that the bride and groom are currently preparing for Saturday’s big party.
– He has had a good night’s sleep and has been smiling all day, assures Hjellestad.
A large bridal party was stuck on the train at Voss on Friday evening, and for a long time it was uncertain whether he would make it to his own wedding. At Finse a nervous bride was waiting.

At ten o’clock on Saturday, a friend of the groom was able to confirm, on a garbled line, that they were on their way.
– We’re on the train! The train is very full, so now we are sitting in a luggage carriage, said the friend to TV 2 before the line was broken.
The Bergen line was at a standstill on Friday evening between Myrdal and Voss, after a catenary was torn down at Reimgend-Urdland. A bus was set up for the train, but there is no road to Finse.
– This has been planned for over two years, with almost a hundred guests and travelers who have come over from the USA. If this cannot be carried out, it is almost unreal, said Tone Steinseth, the groom’s mother.

On Friday evening, Hjellestad set heaven and earth in motion in the attempt to get the bridal party up to Finse on time. Among other things, he was in contact with a helicopter company. They were told that visibility was too poor.
– This is perhaps the biggest day in the bride and groom’s life. It is important that we achieve this in one way or another, said Hjellestad to TV 2 on Friday evening.
On Friday evening, the entourage was told that they would be checked into a hotel in Voss, and that the hotel would arrange a wake-up call as soon as it was possible to travel.
On Saturday morning, their prayers were heard.
Press guard in Vy, Kaja Rynning Moen confirmed to TV 2 that they had instructed the groom’s entourage to meet at Voss station at half past nine.
