Epic: No evidence of data breach amid online leak claims

Telecom company Epic on Friday said there was no evidence of a data breach on its systems so far, after a leak purporting to show 46 users and their passwords was shared online.

A spokesperson for Epic told Cyprus Mail it was aware of the purported leak and it was cooperating with the relevant authorities on the matter, which was being investigated.

“So far, there appears to be no data breach.”

The issue came to the fore through a Telegram channel, which shared 46 emails and usernames and a message saying “we have hacked a database of Epic Telecom in Cyprus.”

Epic temporarily blocked off access to logins as a security measure while investigations were ongoing, the spokesperson confirmed.
