Dubai Digital stressed the importance of participating in the economic survey conducted by the Dubai Data and Statistics Corporation, affiliated with Dubai Digital, with the aim of monitoring the performance of various business sectors and measuring the development of various economic activities at the emirate level, and for the purpose of supporting decision-makers by providing modern and updated databases and indicators that reflect economic performance and support the D33 economic agenda of the Emirate of Dubai.

Dubai Digital pointed out that the business sector survey is one of the most important tools supporting strategic work, planning processes and decision-making support for the economic sector, as it contributes to providing the information and data necessary to measure the performance of all economic activities, and provides the most important main inputs for compiling national accounts, including measuring the gross domestic product and issuing economic indicators for the emirate.

His Excellency Younis Al Nasser, CEO of Dubai Data and Statistics Corporation, pointed out the importance of participating in the Dubai Economic Survey, praising the companies’ response to this matter, which reflects their awareness of the importance of participating in shaping the future of the Emirate of Dubai. He said: “In our current era, it is difficult to imagine making strategic decisions in isolation from accurate data that reflects reality and is the basis for calculating strategic indicators, including production and consumption indicators, among others. The importance of statistical data also stems from the fact that it provides a primary source for anticipating future prospects, including opportunities and challenges, which paves the way for formulating strategic plans based on facts and accurate information. Accordingly, we attach great importance to the information provided by the business community in the context of this survey, which enhances everyone’s partnership in creating a better future for Dubai in various economic sectors.”

Al Nasser added: “The business sector has always played an active and influential role in shaping the features of Dubai’s economic model, with characteristics that have today become a source of inspiration for cities around the world. We count on the participation of this sector in the economic survey, and we consider this participation a living translation of the joint journey of the public and private sectors, and an affirmation of the spirit of partnership that we are moving forward with together to create a brighter and more brilliant future for the Emirate of Dubai, in line with the directives and visions of our wise leadership, and in a manner that serves the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.”

Dubai Digital stressed that the data provided by companies in the context of the economic survey is data protected under Law No. 24 of 2023 establishing the Dubai Data and Statistics Corporation, which guarantees the protection of the privacy of individuals and institutions, and prevents access to the data except by the persons concerned with the survey only, noting that the Dubai Data and Statistics Corporation is the only official body concerned with collecting and publishing official data and statistics about the Emirate of Dubai in various social, demographic and economic fields.

The Dubai Economic Survey 2024 is comprehensive, covering various activities such as: industry, financial and insurance activities, trade, real estate, transportation, construction, services, culture and arts, technology and information, health, education, hotels and restaurants, and agriculture. It also provides data and indicators on the performance of small and medium enterprises, which helps measure their contribution to the emirate’s overall economy.

This year’s survey is highly detailed, providing data on value added, production, intermediate consumption, workers’ compensation and their contribution to the economy.

The survey also provides accurate data on the change in non-financial assets and an estimate of the capital formation of economic activities.
