Dubai Customs, represented by the Corporate Communication Department, won the Global Award for Best International Practices “Excellence Level” in Government Communication, for the department’s achievements, initiatives, innovations and future vision.
This award comes in line with the Dubai government’s efforts to establish an environment that stimulates innovation, build talents and capabilities, and transform innovation into institutional work. This award also enhances Dubai’s global competitiveness, as the International Best Practices Award is one of the prestigious awards in which many entities and institutions from different countries of the world compete annually to showcase their best experiences according to an integrated work plan based on excellence and leadership. The winners are announced at a special honoring ceremony organized by the Research Center for Institutional Excellence in New Zealand. 72 entities from 10 countries competed for this year’s award categories.
Dr. Abdullah Busnad, Director General of Dubai Customs, expressed his happiness with this prestigious award, which reflects the distinguished strategies developed by Dubai Customs and its efforts to establish a culture of creativity and innovation, and its keenness to enhance Dubai’s reputation through international awards that highlight the advancement of our customs experience, facilitation of doing business, development of services, and distinguished performance in communication and interaction with various relevant categories, whether locally or globally, and promising future visions that are in line with the directives of the wise leadership to make Dubai the most distinguished in the best international standards in providing digital content and activating integrated institutional work.
For his part, Khalil Saqr bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communications Department, said that Dubai Customs outperformed many international entities participating in the 10th edition of the award, which confirms that government communication at Dubai Customs has become a global model to be emulated in terms of innovative frameworks and methodologies. He pointed out that these global awards enhance Dubai Customs’ continuous successes and consolidate its position in the Elite Award of the Dubai Government Excellence Program, as the Corporate Communications Department has won many international and local awards, including the International Brilliance Award for Best Marketing and Public Relations Team at the annual “BOC Brilliance” Awards in London, UK, the Bronze Award for Best Environmental Excellence at the 14th Annual World Summit on Social Responsibility, the Global Peacock Award for Sustainability organized by the Institute of Directors in London, and the Best Government Communication Team Award locally and regionally from the Sharjah Government Communication Awards.
