Driver who rammed occupied car in North Carolina charged with attempted murder

HICKORY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A driver has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after police said he intentionally struck another occupied vehicle in Hickory.

The domestic-related incident happened around 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, at a Speedway located on NC127 South. Police say as officers responded to the scene, they found a silver Honda that had struck the building.

Officers learned that the Honda was intentionally hit by another driver in a Chevrolet Traverse. The driver fled the scene following the collision.

No injuries were reported. The driver of the Chevrolet, Miles Shunte Ramseur, 43, of Lawndale, was arrested Thursday afternoon.

He is being charged with felony first-degree attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, simple assault, assault on a female by a male over 18 years, communicating threats, injury to personal property, and hit and run.

The investigation remains open and ongoing.
