David Haye outlines how AJ can beat Gypsy King

David Haye believes that Anthony Joshua may be able to defeat current WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury due to one specific reason that separates them.

After years and years of trash talk and social media exchanges, Fury and Joshua are finally going to be face to face in the ring in a £75m clash on December 3 in Cardiff.

This came about since Fury couldn’t secure a big money undisputed heavyweight title bout with The Cat, as the Ukrainian said he won’t be fighting again until 2023.

Following AJ’s loss in the rematch with Oleksandr Usyk last month, The Gypsy King called out the 32-year-old for a “Battle of Britain” stating that he would put the WBC heavyweight and lineal titles on the line.

Fury himself hasn’t fought since April earlier this year in a dominant display against Dillian Whyte, who he knocked out in round 6 in front of 94,000 fans at Wembley Stadium.

What is interesting about the situation with Fury and Joshua now is that they do in fact have some history, dating back prior to their beef and social media shots over the years.

In 2010, a young AJ was a sparring partner for Fury and the latter was invited to the former’s Finchley club based in Watford for a little session.

The rookie was able to rock The Gypsy King with an uppercut and that could be a tell-tale sign if AJ were to use it again.

David Haye, a former world champion in two divisions in his own right similarly to Joshua’s previous opponent in Usyk, remembers this encounter well.

Per the The Sun, the Hayemaker said: “If anyone has the physical tools to beat Fury, the No1 monster in the heavyweight division, then it is AJ.

“Many years ago, Fury and Joshua sparred and AJ got the better of him.

“If AJ can be strong, fast and aggressive against Fury then he has a chance of surprising everyone.”

As you can see, Haye believes that Joshua’s greatest asset is his physicality in the ring and he may be right in saying that AJ will need to use his athleticism to get one over on Fury.

He continued: “The world will have him as the underdog but for the first time ever the pressure will be totally off him and all on Fury.”

Do you think AJ stands a chance against The Gypsy King to capture heavyweight gold once again? Or do you think Fury is just too good even for Joshua?

Bring on December 3!
