CySO re-launches Chamber Music Series

CySO re-launches Chamber Music Series

In the new artistic season 2024-2025, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra will re-introduce chamber music concerts with CySO musicians to its artistic programme. These concerts will form the dynamic and exciting new Chamber Music Series and a concert is coming up next week.

From October 2024 to April 2025, six programmes will be presented, where a vibrant blend of eight chamber music ensembles formed by CySO musicians, will share their passion and talent for this genre. Audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy adventurous programmes, from mainstream classical, unusual and less-known repertoire to popular and crossover music, with each programme performed in Nicosia and one other city.

The first of the series is on October 31 at Paphos’ Markideio Theatre and on November 1 at Pallas Theatre in Nicosia. The Duo Noïma duet, formed by Virginie Bove, sub-principal flutist of the CySO and Eleni Kappa, Cypriot flutist based in France, will mark this new beginning.

Duo Noïma infuse new sounds and emotional depth into their performances with a varied repertoire of works written for two flutes as well as finely chosen arrangements, from the Baroque era to the present day. Committed to innovation and exploring repertoires, from works of JS Bach to electrifying contemporary pieces, the duo shares a dynamic musical performance that will inspire the senses.

Next in the Chamber Music series is a performance by the Fusionia String Quartet on November 21 and 22 in Paphos and Nicosia. The last one of the year will unite the Cyprus Horn Sound and Papageorgio String Quartet in two December concerts in the same cities on December 21 and 22.
