Two classical music concerts are approaching before the weekend arrives, by the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra and invited guests. Happening this Thursday in Larnaca and this Friday in Nicosia, the Premiere 2 concert will bring renowned compositions to life.
The concerts will take place at the Municipal Theatre in Larnaca and Pallas Theatre in Nicosia at Paphos Gate, where the orchestra will share the stage with Vanessa Benelli Mosell. She is a pianist and conductor of remarkable talent who will bring to life the two romantic masterpieces of this programme – by Chopin and Schumann.
“Chopin’s Piano Concerto no. 2 is a work of sublime emotional depth and expressive range,” the orchestra says. “It takes the listener on a profound musical journey, highlighting the composer’s genius in blending poetic introspection with dazzling pianistic fireworks.
“Schumann’s Symphony no. 2,” they add, “was composed during a period of intense personal struggle and triumph. This gem of the Romantic repertoire stands as a testament to the German composer’s resilience and creative spirit.”
Two more concerts will take place in November, in Nicosia, Paphos, Limassol and Larnaca, bringing unique classical music sounds all around the island.
