The turnover value index for transport and storage in Cyprus grew by 2 per cent in the third quarter of 2024, reaching 145.1 units, according to the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat).
Annual growth was driven by increases in several areas, including water transport (up 10.7 per cent), land transport (up 7.1 per cent), postal and courier services (up 4.1 per cent), and warehousing and support activities for transportation (up 1.3 per cent).
However, air transport experienced a decline of 2.9 per cent compared to the same period in 2023.
For the year-to-date period of January to September 2024, the sector recorded an overall growth of 1.4 per cent compared to the corresponding period in 2023.
