Cyprus hotels enjoy strong October — November bookings strong

Cyprus hotels enjoy strong October — November bookings strong

Cyprus tourism saw a solid October with rising hotel occupancy, president of the Cyprus Hoteliers Association (Pasyxe) Thanos Michaelides said on Wednesday.

In addition, Michaelides said that November bookings are expected to remain strong, potentially extending the summer season.

“October occupancy rates were at 80 per cent and slightly better than October 2023,” Michaelides told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA).

As for November, he explained that “there is interest, and it is expected that the occupancies will move at satisfactory levels”.

What is more, he pointed to the association’s goal of incorporating November into the high-demand summer season.

In this context, Michaelides confirmed that “until October, all hotel units are in operation.”

However, the Pasyxe president did say that “from November, several units will suspend their operation”.

Asked whether the Middle East conflict had impacted the tourism sector in Cyprus, Michaelides said that the volume of visitors “is being supplemented by other markets such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and Poland.”

He said that the flow of tourists from these markets is helping to offset any potential regional impact.
