The October 31 launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was condemned on Tuesday by the foreign ministry.
“We call on DPRK to comply with its obligations under relevant UN Security Council Resolutions”, the foreign ministry said in a post on X.
The ministry cited a recent statement by EU High Representative Josep Borrell, who also condemned the October 31 launch of the missile.
Borrell had said that “this illegal launch shows the DPRK’s continued intention to develop the means to deliver weapons of mass destruction, in flagrant violation of multiple UN Security Council resolutions.”
“The DPRK must comply immediately with its obligations under UNSCRs by abandoning all its nuclear weapons, other weapons of mass destruction, ballistic missile programmes and existing nuclear programmes, in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner and cease all related activities”, he added.
