The average annual salary in Cyprus in 2023 was lower than the EU average, according to data released by Eurostat on Thursday.
Last year the average annual full-time adjusted salary for employees in the EU was €37,900, a 6.5 per cent increase from €35,600 in 2022.
By comparison, in Cyprus the average full-time salary in 2023 came to €26,400 – up from €25,300 in 2022.
Among the EU countries, the highest average salary was recorded in Luxembourg (€81,100), followed by Denmark (€67,600) and Ireland (€58,700).
The lowest average salaries were recorded in Bulgaria (€13,500), Hungary (€16,900) and Greece (€17,000).
