His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, met with a number of members of the US Senate as part of his official visit to the United States of America, and discussed with them the prospects for developing UAE-US relations at various levels, in addition to a number of topics and issues of common interest.
During his separate meetings with Senator Mark Warner, Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Senator Markwayne Mullen, Senator Joni Ernst, Senator Tom Cotton, and Senator John Thune, His Highness said that the UAE and the United States are bound by friendly relations and a strategic alliance, in which Congress has played and continues to play a fundamental role in strengthening it.
His Highness stressed that his visit comes within the framework of the joint keenness to advance the paths of cooperation and bilateral work to advance these relations in a way that achieves the mutual interests of the two countries, especially in the sectors of economy, trade, investment, confronting climate change, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, sustainability and other aspects that are priorities for the two countries, in light of the existence of a common will and solid foundations of mutual respect, trust and common interests.
His Highness said that the United States is a major ally of our country and this is a fundamental direction in our foreign policy that has not changed for more than 50 years.
His Highness pointed out the interest that the leadership of the United Arab Emirates attaches to dialogue and consultation with friends in the United States of America regarding the issues of the Middle East region and finding solutions through diplomatic channels to its crises, based on the importance of the American role in contributing to achieving security, stability and peace in this vital region of the world.
During his meetings, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed the two countries’ shared vision, which is based on the importance of achieving security, stability and peace, and enhancing the values of cooperation and coexistence in the Middle East and the world as a whole, and rejecting extremism, violence and terrorism and working together to confront them. In this context, His Highness stressed the UAE’s support for American initiatives and efforts to stop the war in the Gaza Strip and its aspiration for an influential role from Congress in pushing in this direction.
