The mediation proposal from the labour ministry regarding the collective agreement in the ready-mix concrete sector is still being evaluated, general secretary of trade union Sek Andreas Matsis said on Tuesday.
Speaking after the union’s nationwide conference, Matsis confirmed that the proposal was submitted on Sunday evening and will be reviewed during district general assemblies.
He explained that the union plans to present the proposal to workers during the assemblies, allowing them to make the final decision.
“This matter will be discussed and decided upon by the workers themselves, considering that today marks the 15th day of strike action,” he added.
The strike, which began earlier this month, centres on demands for improved conditions under the collective agreement.
The workers’ assemblies will determine whether the mediation proposal offers sufficient grounds to resolve the ongoing dispute.
