College football live scores, updates: Texas A&M hammering Missouri in SEC clash

Week 6 of college football features just one matchup between top 25 teams, but there’s still plenty of teams on upset watch.

That’s typically how these types of weeks work. Will a team like No. 4 Tennessee get a scare at Arkansas? What about No. 8 Miami at Cal in an ACC After Dark special? Can No. 12 Ole Miss bounce back with a win at South Carolina? We’re about to find out.

Here are the games we’re keeping a close eye on Saturday. All times are Eastern and all odds are from BetMGM.

Noon | TV: ABC | Line: Texas A&M -2.5 | Total: 48.5

The day begins with the only ranked matchup. Marcel Reed looks likely to start at QB for A&M as Conner Weigman continues to recover from a shoulder injury. Meanwhile, Missouri is looking to get its deep passing offense on track. QB Brady Cook excelled throwing the ball down the field a season ago but is averaging just 7.1 yards a pass so far in 2024.

3:30 p.m. | TV: CBS | Line: Ohio State -19.5 | Total: 45.5

It’s hard to see how Iowa’s offense can keep up. But the Iowa defense is the best unit Ohio State has seen so far, and we’re excited to see how the Buckeyes look against the stingy Hawkeyes.

3:30 p.m. | TV: ESPN | Line: Ole Miss -9.5 | Total: 53.5

Ole Miss is looking to bounce back from an ugly 20-17 upset loss to Kentucky last week. South Carolina’s defense is just as good as the Wildcats. Ask Kentucky. The Gamecocks dominated Kentucky in a 31-6 Week 2 win. But can South Carolina’s offense keep up? Stay tuned.

7:30 p.m. | TV: ABC | Line: Tennessee -13.5 | Total 58.5

Tennessee’s offense has produced the highlights so far, but the defense has given up just 28 points over four games and the defensive line has shown itself to be one of the best in the SEC. It’ll be a big challenge for the Arkansas offense, which can be explosive when it’s not turning the ball over.

10:30 p.m. | TV: ESPN | Line: Miami -10.5 | Total: 54.5

Miami’s learning what life is like in the new ACC as it heads out west to visit the Bears for a late-night kickoff in Berkeley, which is also hosting “GameDay.” Can Miami and Heisman hopeful QB Cam Ward keep rolling against a feisty Cal team which is off to a 3-1 start?

Live32 updates

  • Halftime: Texas A&M 24, Missouri 0

The Aggies go into the break with a massive lead. Conner Weigman is back and dealing the pigskin, completing 15 of 19 passes for 193 yards in the first two quarters.

  • Halftime: Penn State 14, UCLA 3

The Nittany Lions added to their lead just before halftime on this connection from Drew Allar to Tyler Warren.

  • Kevin Jennings is pitching a perfect game so far for SMU (12 for 12) and he’s also doing things like this with his legs:

  • After Missouri’s drive fizzles out at midfield, Texas A&M will have it back with 2 minutes left in the first half and a chance to add onto its lead.

  • Touchdown A&M!

The Aggies tack another TD as Le’Veon Moss caps off an 11-play, 88-yard drive with a short plunge into the end zone.

The play of the drive: This catch by Jahdae Walker.

  • Conner Weigman and the Aggies are on the march again, inside Mizzou’s red zone and looking to add onto their lead.

  • Penn State breaks Happy Valley deadlock

Meanwhile, we finally have points in Beaver Stadium after PSU QB Drew Allar pushed his way into the end zone on a goal line run with just under 7 minutes left in the second quarter.

  • NC State’s Grayson McCall carted off after scary hit

Grayson McCall was scrambling for extra yardage when he took a huge hit by converging Wake Forest players. He was down for some time afterward before eventually being carted off the field.

  • Touchdown Aggies!

Texas A&M adds to its early lead with another one-yard TD run by Amari Daniels.

    It’s now 17-0 Aggies.

  • Long Mizzou TD called back

Brady Cook found his man Luther Burden on a wheel route for a 75-yard touchdown but it’s all for naught when it’s called back on a penalty. That could end up being huge.

Mizzou was later forced to punt.

  • SMU, Louisville trading TDs early

In what may end up being one of the higher-scoring games of the day, the Mustangs and Cardinals are off to a fast start in Louisville.

  • A&M adds FG

The Aggies’ drive stalls out just outside the red zone, but kicker Randy Bond drills a 44-yard field goal to make it 10-0.

The bulk of A&M’s yards on that drive came on this throw from Weigman to Noah Thomas.

  • After a quick three-and-out by Mizzou, the Aggies have the ball back and have moved into Tiger territory.

  • Penn State stuffs UCLA

In Big Ten action, Penn State just put a stop to UCLA’s positive momentum with a fourth-down stop. The Bruins had worked their way near the red zone, but the Nittany Lions’ D held strong when it mattered.

  • UNC pick 6

Meanwhile, the Tar Heels are on the board as they try to bounce back after a loss to rival Duke last week. They just took the lead on Pitt with an interception return for a TD.

  • Touchdown Texas A&M!

The Aggies are on the board first after an 8-play drive. What a start for the home team.

Amari Daniels finishes it off with a one-yard plunge after breaking off a 25-yard chunk play to get Texas A&M into position.

  • Turnover on downs!

On fourth-and-2, Mizzou’s Brady Cook throws a deep ball to Theo Wease Jr. and it falls incomplete. Conner Weigman and the Aggies will take over at their own 40-yard line.

  • Interesting development in this one:
