PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — We have a lot of clouds in the forecast for today and tomorrow, but temperatures are going to remain unseasonably mild.
Today’s high will be in the upper-60s and there is a 20% chance of light showers, especially in the mountains and foothills. Overnight, rain chances increase to 80% with lows in the upper-50s.
A powerful cold front is forecast to cross the Piedmont late Wednesday. Ahead of the front, highs will return to the upper-60’s with a 20% chance of showers. Once the front comes through in the evening there will be a sharp change, with a blustery, cold wind taking over. Lows Wednesday night will dip into the upper-30s!
Thursday and Friday, the forecast is windy and much colder. We’ll have partly cloudy skies with highs in the lower 50s. Winds are expected to gust up to 30 mph in the Piedmont. There is a chance of frost on Friday morning.
Over the weekend the winds relax, and temperatures will begin to warm back up. We’re expecting partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-to upper-50s Saturday and Sunday.
Temperatures return to unseasonable warmth as we begin the new work week! We will have mostly sunny skies Monday with highs in the mid-60s.
