Israel killed 11 Palestinians and wounded others in attacks on different areas of the Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources said yesterday. Mahmoud Basal, a spokesman for the civil defense in Gaza, said the Israeli army killed at least seven Palestinians during an air strike on a house in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip.
He added that the Israeli army killed at least two more Palestinians during a raid on a house in the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, noting that at least two Palestinians, including a woman, were killed in an artillery attack on the Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip. Basal explained that the civil defense teams are facing great difficulty in reaching the wounded and victims, due to the limited resources available to them and their inability to remove the rubble from above the trapped injured, which contributes to the high number of victims.
Targeting carriers
Meanwhile, Hamas announced the bombing and targeting of 3 Israeli troop carriers in the city of Rafah, south of Gaza. In the West Bank, the Israeli army killed 7 Palestinians and wounded others yesterday in the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin in the West Bank. According to the Palestinian News Agency, an Israeli force stormed the town of Qabatiya, surrounded a house in the town, and shelled it before climbing onto the roof, pulling the bodies of three dead people, throwing them from the roof of the besieged house, and torturing them, according to a video clip.

Israeli forces also arrested at least 35 Palestinians from the West Bank. The Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs and the Prisoners’ Club reported in a joint statement that the detainees included a woman, a journalist, a cancer patient, and former detainees who were recently released, including Jamal al-Hindi, who spent 22 years in Israeli prisons. The statement noted that the arrests were concentrated in the Qalqilya governorate, while the rest were distributed among the governorates of Ramallah, Bethlehem, Jenin, Nablus, and Jerusalem.
UN accusations
In a related development, a UN committee yesterday accused Israel of committing serious violations of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, saying that its military operations since October 7 have had a catastrophic impact on children and are among the worst violations in modern history.
The vice-chair of the committee told reporters: The killing of children in this horrific way is unique in history. It is a very dark point in history. I do not think we have ever seen a violation of this magnitude that we witnessed in Gaza. These are very serious violations and we do not see them very often.
