Boyertown’s General Spaatz Museum celebrates Veterans Day

BOYERTOWN — The General Carl Spaatz National USAAF Museum celebrated Veterans Day with a Thrivent-sponsored event to help area veterans.

Clients of the Thrivent Herald Financial Group were invited to the Museum to put together hygiene kits while exploring the museum’s World War II historical exhibits on Nov. 11.

“I think this is a great initiative and shows solid community support in helping veterans. When I was deployed overseas, these hygiene kits were like ‘mana from heaven,’” Keith Seiwell of the General Carl Spaatz National USAAF Museum said in a statement.

The General Spaatz Museum has a volunteer nonprofit action team sponsored by Thrivent.

“Thrivent Charitable and its generous donors are committed to supporting churches and non-profit organizations across our local, national and global communities, taking action to support veterans throughout the community,” Thrivent stated in the release.

Hygiene kits, consisting of various toiletry items, will be donated to a veterans shelter or hospital.

“This event aims to bring not only our clients, but the community together, to offer a helping hand to those that have served while showing our gratitude towards those who have served, simultaneously,” Thrivent stated.
