Boyertown man identified as victim of motorcycle crash in eastern Berks

A 27-year-old Boyertown man was the motorcycle rider killed on Sept. 20 in a one-vehicle crash on Old Route 100 in Washington Township, the Berks County coroner’s office said Friday.

Brandon T. Bitler was pronounced dead at 10:32 p.m. by a deputy coroner.

A motorcycle rider was killed in a one-vehicle crash Friday night in eastern Berks County.

He died of multiple injuries and the death was ruled accidental.

Bitler was traveling south on Old Route 100 near Oberholtzer Road in Washington Township about 8:41 p.m. when he lost control on a curve, troopers from the Reading station said. The bike struck a ditch and he was thrown.

Eastern Berks Fire Department and Bally Ambulance crews responded and found the rider unresponsive. They paged the Berks County coroner’s office.
