Boeing freezes hiring, seeks to preserve cash after strike begins

Among the steps the company has taken is considering furloughing many employees, managers and executives in the coming weeks.

Brian West, CFO of the company, said: Boeing“The strike puts our recovery at great risk and we must take action to preserve cash flow and protect our shared future.”

In addition to freezing hiring at all levels of Boeing, the planemaker has halted most travel for its employees and suspended non-essential capital expenditures and spending on facilities.
