Beer Wall on Penn has closed after 5½ years in West Reading.
The gastropub at 619 Penn Ave. made the announcement Friday via Facebook.
“We want to take the opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our amazing current and past employees,” the post said. “Your hard work, dedication and passion have played an essential role in making Beer Wall a household name.”
Beer Wall was known for its self-service taps, where customers could choose a drink from a screen above the tap, and pay by the ounce with pre-loaded cards purchased from the bartender.
Beer Wall also featured a full-service bar and dinner menu, as well as a game room stocked with arcade classics.
Company owners thanked customers for allowing them to live out a dream.
“Thank you for every pint poured, every smile shared, and every memory created,” Beer Wall said on Facebook. “We couldn’t have done it without you.”
Their post received over 150 comments by Friday evening. Many said they enjoyed the pub and were sorry to see it go.
Owners said Beer Wall has retained its liquor license and assets, and asked interested parties to reach out.
Beer Wall had another location on Prince Street in Lancaster that closed in September 2022.
Owners noted Beer Wall had its last day during Fall Fest in West Reading Sept 21.
Beer Wall is the latest in a handful of recent closures in West Reading, including Broken Chair Brewery, Say Cheese! Restaurant & Cheese, Nitro Bar, and Willow Creek Brewing, all of which closed over the summer.
