Two best friends and social media influencers have teamed up to promote a pre-loved fashion store ahead of its public unveiling.
Bake Off star Laura Adlington and blogger Lottie Drynan have launched The Hangar near Rochester Airport.
The charity shop, in aid of Friends of the Wisdom Hospice (FOTW), is located in the former office warehouse in Lankester Parker Road.
A launch party was held on Tuesday (October 1) evening with a DJ and dancing from troupe Haus of Heels.
Gravesend-born Laura, and Tummy Diaries founder Lottie showed their support and posted the celebration on their social media profiles in a bid to draw people to the store.
The pair, who run the body-positivity series “Same Dress, Different Bodies”, have more than 800,000 followers between them.
The shop will open to the public tomorrow (October 5).
It will trade all week and will be available to people looking to shop or drop off donations.
The FOTW helps fund palliative and end of life care to those suffering in the Medway and Swale areas.
Speaking previously, John Hale, the charity’s head of retail, said: “Charity retailing has exploded over recent years and any poor image of having second-hand items has mostly disappeared.
“Charity shops are cool trendy places but must hit a certain criterion for many.”
The charity has plans to expand the project into the 3,000sq ft unit next door in the hopes of creating a unique retail experience based on a more community-focused model.
John Hale added: “At the heart of this is our reason and pull factor and that is the Wisdom Hospice.
“We exist because we must raise funds to support the only adult hospice for Medway and Swale.
“The financial struggles that the Hospice sector is facing, it falls to their fundraising arms to look to new ways to increase fundraising powers, and this is just one of our plans to support the Hospice.”
