“The United Nations was established to be a pillar of stability, and the world has relied on it to prevent unspeakable tragedies from happening again. By formulating and enforcing international laws, promoting international diplomatic action and consensus, investing in development programmes, and deploying peacekeeping missions, the United Nations and its specialised agencies have worked together as a solid bulwark to reflect the spirit of international civic responsibility,” he continued.

The Crown Prince of Bahrain said: “The systems that were created in order to preserve International System “It is under intense pressure. Eighty years after the founding of the United Nations, as the threats and challenges we all face evolve, this important institution on which our global community depends to protect the international order must evolve as well.”

He added: “In Gaza, we see the brotherly Palestinian people living an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe that has claimed the lives of more than 40,000 people, many of whom are women and children. Protecting innocent lives is protected by international law and is a moral and religious responsibility.”

“What is clearly required is an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and a credible and irreversible path to an independent Palestinian state. This must be achieved now, which will contribute to a comprehensive and lasting peace that ensures security and prosperity for all countries in our region, and prevents the spread of a wider regional conflict,” he continued.

He continued: “In the West, we are witnessing widespread suffering as the intractable conflict continues. UkraineIn the East, we see tensions rising in South China Searaising serious concerns of a large-scale military escalation and the deterioration of the integrity of the existing international order.”

He added: “The impacts of these conflicts are borne by humanity, families, communities and our future generations, and they undermine growth, limit opportunities and threaten our hopes for the future of our children.”

The Crown Prince of Bahrain concluded his remarks by saying: “Let us together reaffirm our shared responsibility to uphold and protect human dignity and ensure that the international system remains a force for good. We owe this to future generations, to the values ​​we cherish, and to the world we seek to protect. Learning to live together is indeed the noblest of endeavours.”
