An attempted murder investigation was underway in Nicosia on Tuesday, after two people were stabbed at a park on Monday evening.
Police spokeswoman Eleni Constantinou said two males aged 24 and 16 were at the park and shortly before 7pm, a stranger injured them with a knife.
The 24-year-old was stabbed in the chest and due to the severity of his condition was intubated and is in the ICU at Nicosia general hospital.
The 16-year-old bore injuries after he was stabbed in the back and leg. His condition is stable though he is also being kept in hospital for treatment.
Nicosia’s CID (criminal investigation department) is investigating the case.
