Appeal after alleged assault on path near Romney Way, Tonbridge

An appeal has been launched after a woman was allegedly assaulted by a man, who also exposed himself.

Witnesses are being urged to contact police following the incident on a pathway near to Romney Way, Tonbridge, yesterday (Friday).

Police were called shortly after 3.30pm and it was alleged a woman was approached by a man whom she did not know and who grasped at her, before she was able to leave the area on foot.

There were no reported injuries.

Officers attended and carried out initial enquiries.

The suspect was described as a white man, around 5’6” tall, with dark brown hair and a dark beard, wearing a dark grey hoodie that was pulled up.

The man, who was described as having a lot of hair on his arms, was believed to have exposed himself before the incident took place.

An investigation is ongoing and detectives are urging witnesses who were in the area between 3pm and 4pm to come forward.

Yesterday, police also released an appeal after a reported indecent exposure in Tunbridge Wells.

The suspect allegedly committed the indecent act in front of a woman walking her dogs in Hungershall Park.

It is alleged to have happened between 4pm and 4.15pm on Saturday, September 28, in woodland between Cabbage Stalk Lane and The Pantiles Car Park on Eridge Road.
