ALMA, MI — Nurses at MyMichigan Alma hospital have voted to give labor contract bargainers the authority to strike, if necessary, as contract negotiations continue.
The Michigan Nurses Association, in a statement released Wednesday, Jan. 25, said that 97 percent of nurses who work at the hospital voted in favor of the authorization.
About 150 nurses work at the hospital. Their last labor contract expired in November.
If a strike is called, the nurses must give a 10-day notice to the hospital.
The next round of contract negotiations with hospital administrators is expected on Feb. 1.
