Alice Funk named acting president of TriCounty Area Chamber

POTTSTOWN — Alice Funk has been named acting president of the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce.

Funk, who serves as the chamber’s events and member programs director, will fill the position being left vacant by the departure of current president Eileen Dautrich, who is retiring.

The announcement came via an email to chamber members, from April Barkasi, chairwoman of the chamber’s board of directors.

“Please join us in congratulating Alice and we are excited to collaborate with her and the rest of the TriCounty Chamber team in 2025 as we continue to transition the organization,” Barkasi said in the email.

Dautrich’s last day with the chamber will be Friday, Dec. 13, and Funk will begin her new role as acting president on Monday, Dec. 16, according to the announcement.

Barkasi added that as the process continues, the chamber’s board members are committed to serving on one of three board committees.

“Each of these committees is focused on evaluating different aspects of the organization as we enter 2025. A Governance Committee, Budget & Finance Committee and a Special Projects Committee will be evaluating the organization and will be focused on defining and pursuing priorities to support the growth of your business — our number one focus,” Barkasi said.

Funk joined the chamber in July 2021 as programs and member engagement director. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism/public relations from Rider University as well as a master of arts degree in corporate communications from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

In early October, Dautrich announced her plans to retire from the TriCounty Area Chamber, after a 25-year career with the business advocacy organization. She has served as president of the organization since 2010.

In making her announcement in October, Dautrich said the decision to retire was “one of the hardest decisions” she had made.

“I love this organization so much, and it is all I have known as a professional career,” she said at the time.
