The WorldSkills Lyon 2024 competition kicked off on September 10 in the presence of Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic.
The competition will continue until September 15, and is considered one of the largest global events in the field of artistic and technical skills.
The Emirates Skills team, under the umbrella of the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, is participating in the World Skills Competition 2024, which is being held in the French city of Lyon. The team represents an elite group of Emirati youth in international competitions that aim to highlight professional and technical skills in various fields.
The UAE delegation is represented by Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, in addition to a group of the centre’s executive directors and skills experts who supervise and support the UAE team in this prestigious international event.
17 male and female contestants from the UAE are competing in 16 diverse skills, including aircraft engine engineering, automotive technology, healthcare, social care, electronics engineering, and others, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to developing the skills of its youth and highlighting their capabilities on the global stage.
This participation comes within the framework of the center’s efforts to enhance the skills of Emirati youth and present them as honorable representatives in international forums, which enhances the UAE’s position as a leading center in the development of technical and vocational education and training.
